[Happy] New Year
If I’m being honest, this hasn’t been the best start to a new year for me. I woke up on January 1 feeling fatigued and went on to develop the dreaded virus. Ugh. I hate being sick. If you’ve been under-the-weather, too, I soooo feel you and am sending healing wishes your way.
“Recipe” of the Week
My dear friend has been dropping off handmade chicken broth from Benji’s Deli everyday for me. (I know, I’m super blessed.) I sip it straight from a mug and it is so soothing and healing. If you’re not near a Benji’s Deli location, I recommend ordering broth from your local Jewish delicatessen, whether you’re sick or not. Bone broth is excellent for your gut health and overall wellness.
One of my early symptoms with the virus was intense back pain. One night it was so crippling, I searched for relief by sleeping on my yoga mat. Yes, it was more comfortable to sleep on the floor than in my bed. I’ve since ordered a new mattress and it has made a world of difference.
I’m a side sleeper and learned that Layla is a great brand for people like me. It’s a memory foam mattress, super soft, supportive, and I’m sleeping like a baby. I highly recommend it.
Here’s what I’ve been binge watching these past two weeks while trying to get some R&R:
- And Just Like That - I know the series is getting criticism, but I’ll watch every episode they make. I loved Sex and the City back in the day, and I’m loving it now.
- Emily in Paris (Season 2) - Light, fun, and as close to Paris I’ll get anytime soon.
- Gilmore Girls - This is my first time watching the series. I really missed out back in the day. What a great show!
- Encanto - Emma and I snuggled up and watched this Disney movie yesterday. It was magical.
