Recipe of the Week
My friend, Kimberly, shared this week’s recipe, “Carrot-Coconut Soup with Chile & Lime.”
She told me that the soup is, “Absolutely delicious! Creamy, sweet, and savory with a perfect spicy kick at the end.”
Enjoy!

Wellness Tip
Ever since my yoga teacher shared the benefits of twisting poses, I’ve incorporated them into my daily routine.
Reduction In Back Pain
Overtime, the muscles and other tissues that surround the spine can become stiff. This can lead to decreased range of motion, pain, and discomfort. Practicing twisting poses stretches and strengthens the back muscles, which increases spine mobility and decreases pain.
Improve Digestive Function
When you twist, you compress your digestive organs and temporarily reduce circulation. When you release the twist, a rush or fresh blood floods your digestive organs. Fresh blood brings fresh oxygen and nutrients, increasing their ability to function.
Detox
As mentioned above, when you twist, you temporarily reduce blood supply to your digestive organs. When you release the twist, the re-introduction of fresh blood helps increase cellular detoxification.
Calm the Mind
Twisting poses help open the chest, shoulders, and back, all of which can help decrease feelings of stress and anxiety. You release stored tension in the body as you twist, which can have a positive effect on your mental state. You will get double the benefit if you combine your twists with deep breathing.
