What Really Moves the Needle
Note from Jamie
I like to share things that light me up, fill me with joy, and make my life easier. Nothing is sponsored. These are just things that are helping me along my journey.
What Really Moves the Needle
I’ve annoyed this morning. Mostly at my daughter, Emma, for her messiness.
But then I look around and—well—there’s my own mess. Everywhere.
Boxes upon boxes. Bins upon bins. It’s the holiday season, which for me means Nourish events, shipping orders, and piles of supplies stacked in every corner.
And yet, underneath my irritation is something else: curiosity.
Why am I so messy?
Why do I have so much?
Why does organization overwhelm me so deeply?
I’ve felt called to declutter for years. And yet, I also feel called to give everything purpose. I can’t throw away a magazine because surely a teacher could use it for an art project. I can’t get rid of a promotional t-shirt because I might need it one day for painting.
I want to do it all. Or at least, a lot.
But maybe what I really need is to focus on the basics—to get the foundation right.
This week, I’ve been asking myself: What really moves the needle?
At Nourish, my team spends hours curating our social media content—thoughtful captions, styled photos, reels, the works. But I’ve heard from business owners who’ve had posts go viral—millions of views—and not one sale came from it. Not a single person who clicked “like” went on to actually support their business.
It makes me wonder: if even viral success doesn’t move the needle, what does?
Maybe it’s not about chasing reach or perfection. Maybe it’s about staying anchored to what matters most. The things that actually fill me up. The things that remind me why I started Nourish in the first place.
So I’m sitting with some questions today—ones I’ll probably be returning to again and again:
What do I really want?
What are my values?
What do I enjoy?
What do I truly care about?
Am I working harder than I need to?
Am I investing my time, energy, and money in the right places?
I don’t have all the answers. But I do know this: when I focus on what’s real and right in front of me—my faith, my family, my customers, the mission behind Nourish—I feel more at peace.
Lord, help me focus on the right things today. The things that move the needle toward You.
✨ Maybe you’ve been feeling that same pull, too—to pause, simplify, and realign.
If so, you’re not alone. This season, may we both have the courage to let go of what doesn’t matter and the clarity to see what truly does.
xoxo,
Jamie

Workout of the Week
I’m sharing this video again because it really matters to me that you take good care of yourself. If you haven’t tried it yet, please check it out!
I know jumping doesn’t sound appealing to most people—but hear me out! It’s one of the most important things we can do for our bone health. And I promise, this workout is totally doable.
This quick jump-training session safely stimulates bone growth—no big leaps required.
Just a few minutes of gentle impact can help strengthen our hips, spine, and legs while improving balance and reducing fracture risk.
A simple, powerful way to future-proof your bones.
Recipe of the Week
Now these are tasty!
A fun, flavorful twist on a classic—roasted sweet potatoes topped with saucy homemade sloppy joe, dill pickles, pickled onions, and jalapeños.
I made them this week and Scott stole all the leftovers for lunch. No fair! 😉
Quick, cozy, and crave-worthy.
Live well. Be kind.
