Valentine's Cherry Pie
This week's recipe, Valentine's Cherry Pie, is from my teammate, Beth. She shared, "I discovered this recipe years ago when my children were small. It makes a quick, easy, and delicious Valentine treat. I lost track of where I first found it, but I still make it every year from memory because I love it so much."
Ingredients:
- Double crust for 9 inch pie pan
- 1-2 (21 oz) cans of cherry pie filling. Depending on how deep your pan is.
- 1 (11 oz) back of white chocolate chips
- 1 egg white beaten (I consider this optional)
Directions:
- Heat over to 425 degrees F.
- Line the pie pan with the bottom crust.
- Brush bottom and sides with egg whites.
- Sprinkle the bag of white chocolate chips on the bottom of the crust.
- Pour the cans of cherry filling into the pie crust.
- Top with vented or lattice crust.
- Pinch the bottom and top crust together.
- Brush the top with egg whites.
- Bake 40 - 45 minutes or until golden brown.
- Delicious with ice cream.
