Recipe of the Week
I absolutely love this recipe from the "Eat Your Feelings" cookbook by Lindsey Smith. It’s savory, satisfying, and bursting with flavors.
Inspiration
I hustle. I play martyr. I try to do it all.
So, in my journey to have a more joy-filled life, I’ve been adding small moments of pleasure into my daily routine to help build my fun-muscles.
-I spend time outside first thing in the morning. (Well, after my coffee, obvi.) I challenge myself to prune for 15 minutes. Not because I have a green thumb, but because there’s something immensely satisfying and metaphorical about pruning. It reminds me how growth comes from removing parts that no longer serve me.
-I’m an essential oils girl, but lately, I’ve really enjoyed burning candles. While I’m a Capricorn, an astrologist told me that I also have Aries in me and that I need to tend to that fiery, passionate side of me. She suggested that I stand on a chair and roar like a lioness everyday. She said if that was too much, I could start with burning a candle. Small steps, people.
-My daughter, Emma, reads 30 minutes every night as part of a book challenge at school. I’ve started getting in bed and reading alongside her. I typically listen to audiobooks, so it’s been such a delicious treat to touch and turn real pages of a book.
-We don’t have sidewalks in our neighborhood, so I always walked on the street. Now, I walk on the gravel to hear the satisfying crunch-crunch of every step I take. Ahhhhhh.
I can tell that these small moments of delight are starting to make a difference. I feel softer and more balanced. I’d love to hear what you’re doing to incorporate simple pleasures into your daily routines. I’d like to try them out, too!
One of My Favorite Things (NOT sponsored, just sharing a product I use and love)
My favorite pen in the whole wide world is the Pilot G2 gel pen with the Extra Fine 0.5 mm tip.
I LOVE THIS PEN! It’s everything I want: comfortable, smooth-writing, long-lasting, and it makes my penmanship look A+.
Is it just me, or do you have a favorite brand of pen, too?!
Did You Know?
The Organic Lip Balm has a special place in our hearts! This little tube of goodness was our very first product and launched Nourish into the world!⠀
Not to mention, it's an over-achieving multi-tasker! Consider using the Lip Balm in the following ways:⠀
--Small Blisters⠀
--Stuck Rings⠀
--Dry Nose (especially helpful during the colder months)⠀
--Soften & Moisturize Scabs (to help reduce likelihood of scarring)⠀
--Flyaway Hair⠀
--Stuck Zipper (apply above and below to loosen it up)⠀
--Tight Piercings (if you haven't worn earrings in awhile, rub a bit of lip balm on your earlobe and the earring post to more easily glide in)⠀
--Excess Mascara (apply balm to a cotton swab and dab it to remove excess spots)⠀
It's a little product with BIG benefits!⠀
Fun Fact: Nourish's best selling Organic Lip Balm flavor is Grapefruit! It also happens to be Scott (hubby) and Emma's (daughter) favorite flavor. It's citrusy sweet deliciousness!
