I like to share things that light me up, fill me with joy, and make my life easier. Nothing is sponsored. These are just things that are helping me along my journey.
You Don’t Have to Have It All Figured Out
If you’ve been feeling stuck, uninspired, or like you’re supposed to have your life “more figured out” by now, this message is for you.
I recently listened to a powerful conversation between Mel Robbins and Jay Shetty about finding purpose. What struck me most wasn’t a step-by-step roadmap or some grand aha moment. It was this truth: purpose isn’t something you find once and for all. It’s something you live into. It unfolds through a messy, beautiful dance of learning, reflecting, struggling, tweaking, and trying again.
What worked for you last year might not work this year—and that’s not failure. That’s growth.
Jay Shetty shared that he didn’t always know where he was going. He was a business school student, then a monk, then a corporate consultant, then a media entrepreneur. That winding path didn’t make him lost—it made him layered. And now, he sees how each chapter helped him collect the wisdom and skills he needed for the next.
It reminded me so much of my own journey.
Growing up, I was always moving—swimming, biking, hiking, dancing, doing aerobics with my mom. I loved the way movement made me feel. Years later, I became a personal trainer, then went back to school for nutrition. I worked in corporate marketing, events, and communications. I became a mom. I struggled with postpartum anxiety. I discovered meditation, mindfulness, essential oils, and natural healing.
At the time, none of it made sense. It felt like I was just collecting—skills, experiences, pieces of myself. But now I see: all of it mattered. All of it prepared me to launch Nourish.
And here’s what I’ve learned: you don’t need to have it all figured out to take the first step. You just need to do the next right thing.
Maybe your purpose doesn’t look like a job title or a five-year plan.
Maybe it’s simply your passion in service of others. The way you show up. The way you love. The way you bring healing or creativity or truth into the world.
Nourish was born from a lip balm kit my daughter received for her birthday. It was fun. It was playful. And it lit something up in me. That spark turned into a fire—and that fire became a wellness company rooted in kindness, healing, and love.
More than anything, I wanted to use this platform to share the message that changed my life: you are worthy of kindness—from others and from yourself.
When I was laid off from my job, I enrolled in a mindful self-compassion course. I learned how to soften instead of strive, how to feel instead of fix. I remember asking myself, “Do other women know this? Do they know it’s okay to be gentle with themselves?” I knew I had to share that message.
So here I am—still learning, still collecting, still connecting the dots. And this newsletter? It’s an extension of that passion and purpose. A love letter to the women who are finding their way, one step at a time.
If you’re in a season of transition, or if you feel like you should have it more “together,” let me tell you this:
You are not behind.
You are becoming.
And every part of your story matters.
So give yourself permission to evolve. To quit what no longer serves you. To follow what energizes you. To be more than one thing. To start before you’re ready.
Where you are today is where you once dreamed of being. You got here. You will get there again.
With you,
Jamie 💛
