Recipe of the Week

I saved this recipe, Sheet Pan Pork Sausages with Roasted Apple & Delicata Squash, from my time with Sunbasket meal service.

It's incredibly flavorful! My daughter, Emma, asked if we could please have it every night for dinner.

The meal includes a Creamy Dijon Vinaigrette. I used this sweet & tangy Maple Dijon Vinaigrette recipe and it was so, so, so good. We spooned it over our entire meal.

Wellness Practice

A few friends have shared that this is their year of saying, “YES!”

After careful consideration, this is my year of saying, “NO!” 

During my recent Reiki appointment, my practitioner Kris, reminded me that my time is valuable. (So is yours.) In my desire to please, I have said, “yes,” to many things I really haven’t wanted to do. Things that have left me feeling energetically depleted instead of uplifted.

I spend a lot of time cultivating my energy. I give my best to everyone around me. Kris reminded me to expect the same in return.

So, when I’m invited to do something where there is a significant energy discrepancy, I’m going to respectfully say, “No.” 

And, I’m going to say, “No,” without much reasoning or justification attached to it. A simple, “Thank you so much, but that doesn’t work for me right now.”

I’ll commit to saying “NO” so that I have the energy to say, “YES” to the people and things that bring me joy.
