Hug in a Mug Protein Cake
Hug in a Mug Protein Cake
Lately, when I come home after long, emotional days with my sister, I’ve been craving something warm, comforting, and nourishing. This little mug cake has become my nightly ritual—a sweet, chocolatey “hug” that soothes my heart and fills me up without guilt.
It’s quick to make, packed with protein, and tastes like a decadent treat—perfect for winding down and wrapping yourself in a little love at the end of the day.
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
- 1 tablespoon chocolate protein powder (I use vanilla)
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour (I use GF all-purpose flour)
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey
- 2 tablespoons milk (dairy or non-dairy)
- 1 tablespoon plain Greek yogurt
- ¼ teaspoon baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- 1 tablespoon chocolate chips (plus more for topping)
Instructions
- In a microwave-safe mug, stir together cocoa powder, protein powder, flour, baking powder, and salt. Add maple syrup, milk, and yogurt, mixing until smooth. Fold in chocolate chips.
- Microwave on high for 60–90 seconds or until just set on top. Let cool slightly before digging in with extra chocolate chips on top if you like.
