Cacao Powder Hot Chocolate

Lately, I’ve been savoring a warm mug of Cacao Powder Hot Chocolate — rich, comforting, and full of natural goodness. Raw cacao is packed with antioxidants and mood-boosting minerals, making this simple recipe both nourishing and indulgent.
It’s the perfect way to slow down and sip something that loves you back.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups milk or milk alternative
  • 2 tablespoons raw cacao powder
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla
  • Sprinkling of cinnamon
  • Pinch sea salt

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, combine the milk, cacao powder, maple syrup, vanilla and a pinch of salt. Whisk until smooth.

  • Place the saucepan over medium heat, and bring the milk to a simmer, whisking often. Give the hot chocolate a taste-if you prefer it sweeter whisk in a bit more maple syrup. Serve warm.

Notes
  • Prevent Clumping: Whisking the cacao powder into cold or room-temperature liquid first helps create a smooth paste (or slurry) before heating, which prevents clumping. A milk frother or blender can also help achieve a velvety, frothy consistency.
