Ask Me Anything

Note from Jamie

I like to share things that light me up, fill me with joy, and make my life easier. Nothing is sponsored. These are just things that are helping me along my journey.

Ask Me Anything

One of my favorite things about Nourish is getting to see so many of you out in the world—at farmers markets, events, and around the community. I also love hearing from you when you reply to one of my emails.

It genuinely fills my heart when you tell me that something in the newsletter resonated with you, or that you appreciate my authenticity and my invitation to just be real.

Life isn't always pretty or polished, and I don't want this space to pretend that it is.

Lately, a few of you have asked me some really thoughtful questions. And I started thinking… if a few of you are wondering these things, maybe several more of you are, too.

So, here goes!

Q: How long does it take you to write the newsletter?

A: About two hours each week.

I could easily spend a whole lot more time on it, but because this is a weekly newsletter, I've taken the pressure off myself for it to be perfect.

Of course, I always want what I share to be meaningful, helpful, and worth your time. But it doesn't need to be perfect. If something I write resonates with you, makes you feel a little less alone, or gives you something to think about, then I've done my job.

You know I love the phrase GE: Good Enough. And, done is better than perfect.

Q: How do you figure out what to write about?

A: I journal most mornings. It's honestly one of my favorite things to do. It helps me process what I'm learning, how I'm growing, and what I'm noticing about life.

I'm always curious about how I can do better, enjoy life more, and walk more fully in my purpose.

Many mornings, I use a prompt I learned from Elizabeth Gilbert: "Love, what would you have me know today?"

For me, it's a way of asking God to share the little nuggets of wisdom I need in that moment. And it's amazing how often my pen just starts flowing. Somehow, I'm given the wisdom or direction I need for that particular day.

Those journal pages often become the starting point for the Note in this newsletter.

And sometimes, I'm completely stuck and have no idea what to write about.

Take last week, for example. I had all of these seemingly unrelated experiences, but when I really sat with them, I realized they were all pointing toward the same thing: being willing to learn something new and staying open to new experiences.

Because I don't know it all. And I'm pretty sure I never will.

Q: Have you ever considered writing a book or becoming a public speaker?

A: I'm always honored when you ask me this.

I think a lot about how the Nourish Together community could expand and what it might look like in real life.

How could we do more of life together? In a way that's authentic and real and messy and joyful and loving?

I'm not exactly sure what that looks like yet, but it's definitely something I'll be exploring in 2027.

Q: You've mentioned that big things are happening behind the scenes at Nourish. Can you share more?

A: I've still got some things to work through, so I'm not ready to share all of it just yet. But our team will likely be growing, including at our Port Washington production facility.

And if you've ever been curious about working with us, please reach out. I'd love to hear from you!

On another note… running a small business is expensive. I'm constantly thinking about how we can do more, grow more, and serve more people while still being scrappy and creative with our resources.

Sometimes it's less "What's the biggest and best thing we can do?" and more "What's the smartest thing we can do with what we have?"

Q: What's next for Nourish?

A: I'm really interested in offering more workshops and learning resources.

And I want 2027 to be a year when we get back to more product development.

Several of you have been asking for a magnesium spray, a hair wax styling stick, body oils, and the return of our foaming hand and face washes!

Product development takes a significant amount of time, research, testing, and thought. I only ever want to launch products that I'm genuinely proud of—and that I know are effective.

So, yes. There are some fun things brewing.

Q: Do you take time off?

A: This is an incredibly important season for Nourish, and I do work nearly every day.

But I also prioritize taking care of myself.

I have slow mornings on the couch with coffee and my journal. I work out most days. I take bike rides. I make myself nutritious food. I meet friends for walk-and-talks.

So while, yes, I work every day, I also try to weave rest and soul nourishment into every day, too.

For me, self-care doesn't always mean stepping completely away from my work. Sometimes it means making sure I'm taking care of the person who is doing the work.

And maybe that's an important distinction.

What else do you want to know?

Seriously. Ask me anything.

I'm happy to share the real stuff—the business, the lessons, the things I'm figuring out, the things I'm excited about, and maybe even the things I haven't quite figured out yet.

Thank you for being on this journey with me.

I'm incredibly grateful that I get to share a little bit of life with you each week.

And I'm even more grateful that you write back and share a little bit of yours with me.

xoxo,

Jamie

Nourish Pick of the Week

Sleep Roller Blend

One of my favorite reminders lately is that rest doesn't have to be something we earn. It can simply be part of how we care for ourselves.

Our Sleep Roller Blend is a little nighttime ritual I love—something simple to reach for when I'm ready to slow down, breathe deeply, and let the day go.

Roll it on, take a deep breath, and give yourself permission to settle in.

Because nourishing yourself isn't selfish. It's part of the work, too.

Recipe of the Week

Roasted Vegetable Orzo

I love this recipe so much.

I first made it about 10 years ago, and I’ve proudly served it at many a dinner party since!

It’s colorful, incredibly flavorful, packed with nutritious vegetables, and just as delicious served warm as it is at room temperature.

It’s one of those recipes that feels a little fancy but is actually quite simple to make.

I hope you enjoy it, too!
