When the Heart Breaks Open
Note from Jamie
I like to share things that light me up, fill me with joy, and make my life easier. Nothing is sponsored. These are just things that are helping me along my journey.
When the Heart Breaks Open
Reflections on love, loss, and the sacredness of letting go.
As events pick up and I have the privilege of seeing more and more of you out in the community, my heart is so full.
So many of you ask how I’m doing, give me big hugs, and offer words of encouragement. I have felt so held by you—always, but especially over this past year—and I can’t thank you enough for that.
For those of you who are newer to Nourish, my sister, Jenny, passed away this past summer. Walking beside her through her final months was one of the most sacred and transformative experiences of my life—a journey filled with love, courage, surrender, and grace.
Recently, I had the honor of joining Kristin Aurelia of Surviving the Human Experience Podcast to record an episode called, Showing Up in Grief. We talked about Jenny—her beautiful spirit, her courage, and the soulful, intentional way she approached the end of her life.
Our conversation explores love, choice, grief, and the sacredness of letting go—how loss can break you open and somehow expand your heart all at once.
I listened to the episode again yesterday, and my heart is overflowing. It’s absolutely beautiful—one of the most meaningful and heartfelt things I’ve ever done.
I'd be honored if you’d take time to listen. 💗
Inspirations
Nourish Pick of the Week
We sell more lip balm than anything else we make—and for good reason. It’s my favorite lip balm ever!
Made with the highest-quality organic ingredients, it glides on smoothly, hydrates deeply, and leaves your lips feeling nourished and soft.
I’m so proud of this little balm, but I also want to share something honestly: we haven’t raised the price on our lip balm in years, even though ingredient costs have gone way up.
To keep Nourish sustainable, we’ll be increasing the price soon. If you love our lip balms, now’s the perfect time to stock up.
Workout of the Week
This one was so much fun!
I love workouts that have creative flows—where you’re not just going through the motions, but actually playing, exploring, and trying new things.
This 30-minute lower body workout will challenge your legs and glutes while keeping things fresh and engaging.
You’ll finish feeling strong, energized, and proud of what your body can do!
Recipe of the Week
This week’s cozy, no-fuss recipe comes from my dear friend (and loyal Nourish customer!) Elle.
Her Pumpkin Black Bean Quinoa Chili is the perfect fall dish—hearty, nourishing, and so easy to make.
Just dump everything in the crockpot, let it simmer, and you’ll have a delicious, protein-packed meal that works for all kinds of dietary preferences.
Top it with cheese, avocado, or chips… and enjoy a bowl of pure comfort.
Live well. Be kind.
