The Sweetness After the Struggle

Note from Jamie

I like to share things that light me up, fill me with joy, and make my life easier. Nothing is sponsored. These are just things that are helping me along my journey.

The Sweetness After the Struggle

Yesterday, Emma graduated from 8th grade, and I'm feeling all the feels.

She received a special award recognizing her character, academics, citizenship, and leadership. As her mom, I couldn't be prouder. Yes, I'm proud of her accomplishments. But even more than that, I'm proud of who she is.

Middle school wasn't always easy. She faced some significant challenges along the way. What I admire most is how she met those challenges—with grit, determination, courage, and hard work.

She didn't just survive the difficult moments. She learned from them. She grew through them. She found a way to thrive.

Earlier this week, I celebrated another milestone: five years of healing since my blood clot.

What a journey that has been.

After years of monitoring, ultrasounds, appointments, and uncertainty, I've officially been cleared. No more follow-up visits. No more routine scans. I'm stable and good to go.

As I reflected on both of these moments, I realized they share something important.

They remind me that there is a sweetness that comes after the struggle.

Most of the time, if I'm being honest, I want life to be sunshine and roses. I want things to be easy. Smooth. Comfortable. Predictable.

But the truth is, some of life's greatest gifts arrive through the challenges.

The hard seasons shape us. They teach us what we're capable of. They help us discover strengths we didn't know we had. They deepen our compassion. They clarify what matters most.

Right now, I'm facing a challenge that I wish would simply disappear. I want it solved. Finished. Gone.

But instead of resisting it, I'm trying to trust it.

I'm reminding myself that I'm learning and growing. That I'll come out on the other side stronger, wiser, and more aligned than before. That the sweetness is coming.

And perhaps the sweetest part isn't waiting on the other side at all.

Perhaps it's already here—in the courage to keep going, the lessons unfolding along the way, and the reminder that every chapter, even the difficult ones, is part of the journey.

Wishing you the courage to trust your own journey this week, too.

xoxo,

Jamie

Nourish Pick of the Week

Organic Bug Spray

I sold out of our Organic Bug Spray at an event last week, and honestly, I'm not surprised.

I use it every single day this time of year—before walks, time on the deck, and hikes through the woods.

It's one of those products that's a delight to use. The aroma is fresh and uplifting, it's soothing to the skin, and best of all—it works.

Natural bug protection never smelled so good.
