NOURISH TOGETHER - WEEKLY NEWSLETTER - 8/15/24
Note from Jamie
I like to share things that light me up, fill me with joy, and make my life easier. Nothing is sponsored. These are just things that are helping me along my journey.
When journaling earlier this week, I felt a prompting to focus on peace.
What does peace feel like?
What brings me peaceful feelings?
For me, peace feels like: ease, lightness, contentedness, release, trust, confidence, quietness, and steadiness. It feels soothing, nurturing, and nourishing.
I feel peaceful when I am: intentionally breathing, observing nature, journaling, moon bathing, laying in the hammock, snuggling, resting, tuning into my senses, and spending time alone.
When I first started studying mindfulness, my teacher taught me about the concept of equanimity, which can lead to peace. Equanimity is mental calmness, composure, and evenness of temper. Equanimity is a balanced reaction to both the highs and lows in life.
I thought, "No thanks. Equanimity sounds boring. I'll stick to focusing on the highs."
Now, I'm starting to feel and understand the benefits of equanimity. My nervous system feels better, and in turn, my mind and body feel better.
Peace and equanimity? Yes, please!

Nourish Pick of the Week
I am super proud of our Be Well for Hands natural hand sanitizer product.
Scott and I both keep a bottle in our cars and Emma keeps one in her backpack.
It's perfect to use when you're out and about and can't wash your hands.
It's gentle, fights germs, and keeps your hands moisturized.
Order multiples to always have on *ahem* hand. (Yes! Nailed the pun!)

Recipe of the Week
I first started making this recipe nearly 20 years ago and it remains my favorite tomato soup recipe to this day.
It's an excellent way to use summer's tomato bounty.
Enjoy!
