From Scarcity to Abundance: A Personal Shift I'm Practicing
I recently listened to an incredible episode of Jay Shetty’s podcast with Dr. Joe Dispenza, and it hit me in a way I didn’t expect. The conversation centered around how our thoughts and emotions affect our physical bodies—and more powerfully, how those thoughts become patterns we live by, often without even realizing it.
It made me pause and ask: What thoughts have I been feeding myself lately?
And the truth is, I recognized that I was unintentionally letting in a lot of scarcity thinking. Not just around money or business, but around time, energy, even my own worth. I was listening to (and believing) thoughts that whispered things like “there’s not enough,” “you’re not doing enough,” or “you’re falling behind.” And even though I have big goals—especially around creating wealth and a life of deep purpose—I wasn’t truly honoring the abundance I already have.
So I made a shift.
I began reminding myself, “I am abundant.” Not in a fake-it-til-you-make-it way. But from a place of real noticing.
I looked around and said: I have love. I have meaningful work. I have creativity. I have a beautiful community. I have support.
That’s abundance.
Dr. Joe said something powerful in the episode: affirmations don’t work if we don’t believe them. It’s not about forcing a mantra that feels hollow. It’s about choosing thoughts we can actually own and embody. So now, I tell myself:
- “I’m learning how to live in abundance.”
- “I’m becoming someone who sees possibility.”
- “While I don’t feel abundant in every area of my life, I recognize and celebrate where I am abundant.”
This is brain rewiring. This is self-compassion.
Instead of beating myself up for not being where I want to be, I’m choosing a different energy. A gentler one. A truer one. I’m realizing that the stories I tell myself—about who I am, what I’m capable of, and what’s possible—matter more than I thought. And when I catch myself spiraling into fear or “not enough,” I stop and say: No. I choose abundance. I choose joy. I choose to believe in more.
If this resonates with you, I hope you’ll join me in this practice.
Not because it’s easy, but because it’s healing.
We don’t have to be perfect to be powerful.
We just have to be present.
With love,
Jamie 💛

Recipe of the Week
(This recipe was shared without an image. This photo is close, but not exact.)
This week’s recipe comes from my neighbor Spencer—who may not officially be called the “Sauce Boss,” but after tasting this flavorful, slow-cooked chicken with roasted squash and a hint of spice, I think he’s earned the title.
It’s cozy, bold, and perfect wrapped in a warm tortilla with creamy avocado on top.
Live well. Be kind.
