NOURISH TOGETHER - WEEKLY NEWSLETTER - 10/3/24
Note from Jamie
I like to share things that light me up, fill me with joy, and make my life easier. Nothing is sponsored. These are just things that are helping me along my journey.
I've taken many Mindful Self-Compassion courses over the past six years (that have changed my life). The focus has been on tender self-compassion with the following components: Mindfulness, Common Humanity, and Self-Kindness.
I am currently taking an 8-week course that focuses on the fierce side of self-compassion: Brave, Empowered, Clarity.
This week, we talked about protective Boundaries.
How are you at setting boundaries? I've gotten much better at setting them and wanted to share what I've learned along the way.
- Less is more. No need to provide lengthy explanations or excuses of why you can't/don't want to do something. Short and sweet is how I say, "No."
- Honesty feels good. I don't tell "little white lies." They feel icky and no one benefits. Plus, I allot zero headspace to remembering lies. (Honesty is my top value.)
- Promptness matters. It's my experience that people are okay with me saying, "no," they just want a timely response.
- Kindness matters. I wrap my "no" in kindness. For example, "Thank you so much for thinking of me. I am honored. I am not able to make it, but please know that I will be cheering for you."
My friends, please know that you are worthy of taking care of yourself. We all are, and practicing setting boundaries, is one way of doing so.
xo,
Jamie

Zucchini Quiche with Bacon and Hash Brown Crust
This recipe is absolutely delicious.
I originally made the quiche for dinner, but then got up and had it again for breakfast and lunch. It's that good.
Enjoy!
