Note from Jamie
I like to share things that light me up, fill me with joy, and make my life easier. Nothing is sponsored. These are just things that are helping me along my journey.
Decluttering Without Overwhelm
I’ve always enjoyed decluttering, but it’s easy for me to feel overwhelmed by the process.
Recently, I reread Decluttering at the Speed of Life by Dana K. White and tuned into a few decluttering podcasts that offered some fresh perspectives. These simple, practical tips have been game-changers for me:
1. Ask the Right Question
Instead of deciding if something is valuable or if it sparks joy, I ask myself: Where would I go first to look for this? Then, I put it in that spot.
2. Focus on Progress
I’ve stopped pulling out huge piles of stuff to declutter. Instead, I tackle one item at a time. This way, I only create progress, no matter when I stop.
3. Adopt a "Might as Well" Mindset
When I think about saving a task for later, I say: I might as well do it now. Whether it’s putting something away or making a quick call, this mindset has helped me accomplish so much more.
4. Embrace the Container Concept
Your home is a container. Your closet is a container within that container. The space you have is the limit, and that’s okay. I’ve learned to let my space guide what I keep.
These small shifts have made a big difference for me. I hope they inspire you, too!

Jamie
